2. Applicable Law

This policy is written in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報の保護に関する法律, APPI), as amended by the 2022 revision effective April 2022, and its associated guidelines issued by the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC) of Japan. Where we handle personal information of individuals located in the European Economic Area, we also consider the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as a reference framework for good practice.

Under the APPI, personal information (個人情報) means information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual through name, date of birth, or other description. We treat all contact information submitted through this website as personal information under the APPI.

We collect and process personal information on the basis of the voluntary consent implied by your submission of the contact form, combined with the legitimate interest of responding to business inquiries. The privacy checkbox on the contact form records your acknowledgment of this policy prior to submission.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected. Specifically: inquiry correspondence that does not result in an engagement is retained for a period of twelve months from the date of last communication, after which it is deleted. Correspondence and documentation relating to completed audit engagements is retained for a period of three years from the completion of the engagement, to support any follow-up questions about findings. Technical server logs are retained for a period of ninety days and then deleted. After the applicable retention period, personal information is securely deleted or anonymized.

7. Third-Party Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties. We do not share personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Personal information may be disclosed to third parties only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: We use third-party services for website hosting and email delivery. These providers may process personal information on our behalf as data processors. We select providers who maintain appropriate security standards and who process personal information only as directed by us.

Legal requirements: We may disclose personal information where required to do so by applicable law, court order, or request from a competent regulatory authority in Japan, including the Personal Information Protection Commission.

Under the APPI, we are required to obtain prior consent before providing personal information to third parties, except in the circumstances described above. We do not provide personal information to third parties beyond these circumstances.

Our primary operations are based in Japan.
